Google Maps Connectivity Feature

I have been clustering my experiences from my travel trips, points of interests and events attended by creating Places Lists on Google Maps since the feature launched. I’m managing 19 public Places Lists currently. From all the tools I’ve used so far along my proactive daily activity across channels, I find Places Lists the easiest and fastest feature to expand content in a given context. Whether it’s an illustration to your book, topical article (blog post), research papers, a seasonal promotion of your services either the current specification of products, Places List on Google Maps is facilitating online interactions by grounding the conversation among users in the framed context of the items on a list.

The best practices of “On e Board” members present excellent use cases.

Places Lists are the perfect contextual tool

My 19 places lists that are one click away by their unique URL any time I need to share more details, grab attention with recent updated information or simply specify the niche area I’m talking about.

My Places lists have been created with regards to conversational searches on Google. The reviews I’ve been adding reflect my personal experiences while visiting the locations in the first place. I’m including notes (Can do) in the Reviews I’m adding to Google Maps about specific typical details and related references.

I’ve written a short tutorial how to create public Places Lists. Check it here.

How to Turn Google Collections into Places Lits

  1. Create your shared Google Event Collection on Google Search App. To illustrate an Event Collection I have created Google Products Experts Berlin Meetup 2019 I’m attending in October. From the three dots menu I have set it to Shared.
  2. Open the venue on location on Google Maps and copy the link for sharing. I opened Google Berlin Campus on Google Maps and copied the link .
  3. Open Google Search app, paste the link and hit the “ribbon” icon to add the URL to your Collection.
  4. Go back to Google Maps, Your places, Saved and you will see the new Places List located there for you. Google Product Experts Berlin Meetup 2019 From three three dots menu you can set the sharing setting to Public.

Quality Content basics: Why Where Who What How

Why should you care to connect your Google Collections to Places Lists?

In the first place, the unique URL of a Google Collection is making it possible to reference instantly large amount of data. If you are writing an article about hiking in the Italian Alps for еxample, “South Tyrol Insider” Places Lists is helping your reader’s research and plan their travel trip.

Contextualize Events

When visiting events, one can receive detailed information about the venue’s location, follow it and get the best suggestions “For You” feature Google Maps is personalizing on Android devices. Even if it’s not any new experience having it on your Google Maps App, clustering recent articles and official papers on the topic by adding to the dedicated Collection is the fastest and most easily updated cluster of data on topic to get done with Google Search App.

Google Collections and Public Places Lists Combined Give AI Powered Context with Google Search App

My live streamed broadcast tutorial while testing Live Events with Camera on YouTube. It’s far from ideal since Live Events with Camera are not Hangouts replacement. There isn’t share screen option neither invite quests option. Contact me for any questions related to shared Google Collections and public Places Lists.
