The feature came live with my Google Workspace Individual edition in the night on the 21st of July and I instantly clicked “Start live stream”. If you have been live streaming from Hangouts, it will be not new to you. My previously scheduled live stream events with hangounts appeared as choices ( see fig 3). Google Meet to YouTube Live Stream Settings
The live streaming from Google Meet to YouTube feature is an access feature. It is Off by default for all Google Workspace editions. Google Workspace Administrators have to give permissions for this feature to the event organizer ( to the organizational unit or group) by turning the service On. From the Admin console admin.google.com go to Google Workspace Apps, click Google Meet and open Settings for Google Meet. Choose the user, organisational unit or group from the left and from the right in Meet Video Settings tun On :
Let people stream their meetings.
Streamed meetings have a URL that can be sent to others so they can watch the meeting.
Who can Host Google Meet to YouTube Live Streams?
(Edited) Managers
Managers of Brand YouTube channels and Managers of private YouTube channels can start a live stream from Google Meet to YouTube. If you are managing more Brand accounts, select the corresponding channel from the drop down menu (Fig. 4)

Googlee Meet Logo
Before hosting a live stream with your Google Workspace consider this: Google Meet logo is included. The dowloaded video does equally hold the Google Meet logo. As a workaround use Record with Google Meet to avoid having a second logo on top of your Brand’s logo. This is the case dated 10th April 2023 after I tested to edit this article.
Google Meet to YouTube Live Stream URL Watch Page
Marketers, PR professionals and Agencies can announce the URL of the watch page in advance by setting up the Live event on the Brand’s YouTube channel (Fig.5).
