The takeaways from the 9 week digital Google Cloud Next ’20 conference are industry specific for cloud computing and actionable. Нowever noise is less on standard news about Google’s most significant yearly event. The fact that thousand professionals from the technology industry from across the globe are not travelling to San Francisco is making this difference.
The Digital Event Google Cloud Next 20
Even if I have been attending Google Cloud Next 19 On Air before, it was actually a completely different event than the digital NEXT ’20. Before I would run the main stage streaming for hours on my computer.
Now, I have researched the program and added to my playlist the breakout sessions, digital demos and even 1:1 meeting with Google Experts I’m interested in. I would have done less being at the event’s location physically.
A digital event is not as spectacular as the performance, nor is the experience in celebrating the industry together with everyone involved at the premises. Nevertheless the messages reach each Google Cloud Customer or personal user in a very knowledge – focused way. Google’s straightforward approach to cloud customers and users changed the very Google!
Google has evolved into being The Digital Transformation platform for all.

The opening keynote brought into the Spotlight Thomas Kurian, Google Cloud’s CEO. He has highlighted the innovative solutions distinguished by
- confidential computing
- encryption while data is being processed,
- streaming analytics,
- modernizing development,
- unified experience at the workspace,
- machine learning pipeline for developer models and
- consistent data.
Google Cloud Next ’20: New Home for Work
With remote work being on top of all trends globally, G Suite has accelerated long-term plans. They are becoming reality where they are mostly needed at the work spaces impacted by the epidemic.
G Suite is uplifting professionals in experiencing a “better together” team collaboration therefore G Suite Essentials has been mentioned as the most recent cloud plan about a unified team experience. Communication is seamless in the formats text, documents, comments and video: Gmail, Chat and Meet. Google Cloud Next’20: New Generation Gmail
“It’s too much” is what Google has been listening to related to information overload and too many tools to run and keep up with updating. The new generation G Mail comes to resolve this problem.
First, G Suite communications improvement is about an application already popular for billion people, such as G Mail. The better work together is based on managing the communication flow itself all in one as teams interact while texting, talking or during a video-conference. Users can get things done switching between Chat, Gmail, Meet and third party applications. You can’t loose tasks this way, can you? One can even block time for themselves as part of the communication flow.
Google Cloud Next ’20: Google Meet Roadmap
The importance of seeing people face to face online has dramatically accelerated the usage of Google Meet. It’s a global experience from family meetings, online classes for distance education, remote work, finance and telehealth. During this session Google Meet Product Managers have outlined Meet’s advanced features:

- Overall life cycle of a meeting, from scheduling to follow-up
