On e Board Google plus Yearly Overview
2017 was a fascinating year “on e board”! I could say or write no words and still be in synchronicity in mutual understanding with friends and collaborators online! At the same time, for the topics, I’m keeping up “Business&Entrepreneurship” and “Social Media Marketing” my streaming digests and interviews have two times more followers on yearly bases in average for all six editions. “Innovation Business Trend Events” has 3.9 times increase and Google Plus Synergize” has 4.7 times increase compared to 2016. My personal profile, has 1.5 times increased following. The most impressive is not the statistics though….

My interest in Search engine optimization and IT relationships evolved as technology solutions allowed expertise specific activity merged experience and flow with topics and trends on the web. I started back in 2015 by addressing “Google My business” product in front of SEO Conference 2015. In October 2017 I was awarded the exclusive chance to be part of Google Top Contributors Summit 2017.
Google My Business
Since my lecture about Google My Business it scaled to direct communication among clients, potential clients and businesses through Search and it completely covers a comprehensible “to-dos” list in digital communication. Google My Business can be compared to a digital web stand flashing relevant information (equivalent to “Yellow pages”), updated images, latest brief posts for top services and buttons to take action. Together with Google maps location information, navigation and street view, Google My Business is already a virtual reality to businesses. It’s up to owners and manager’s choice how to lead the conversation with their audience across devices, considering the mobile-first world and connected networks. Working with consultants would be the preferable approach in establishing a schedule along with the daily basic activity of the business.

The Professional Activity Online
Ultimately whether you are part of an industry conference in real life either online, Digital Economy Webit Festival, Prestigious PR Event, writing or speaking, it’s one sole personal message you are shouting out. What it rounds up is in alignment with your mission and vision in life that shines out. This makes scalable the online presence of professionals, namely leaders. In this line of thoughts, it relates to “On e Board” in the narrow meaning of the personal activity in a Community online. The basic suggested list comprises:
- Program of events
- Across-channel editorial calendar
- Support forum
The delusion that claiming the digital space by belonging to an industry, obeying to marketing structures in a sequence of repeated activities is holding back many professionals from being active online. A leader and a manager must have the skills of surfing the networks by their own interest and passion, know and behave accordingly for privacy, security, and communication.

Major Updates on Google Plus
Google plus evolved by being Gsuite’s core product. The platform gives amazing opportunities for research and collaboration. The real difference is the transformation and innovation evidenced by Google plus. In 2017 Perspective Google plus team list all released features along the past year and sum it up: ” Overall, we had quite an eventful year, with more feature developments to come in 2018!”
The merged cyber-physical world on the platform is so vibrant that you can literally reach by hand. Listen to what Errol Doebler, a leadership coach shares about joining Google Plus:
“About me” new cards give the opportunity to add all in one place: contact data, links to sites and projects and across-channels and preferred form of contact by mail, chat, phone or schedule on your Calendar. Users can control which information they keep in public and how they want others to find them. Besides the personal photo, the new design of the cards gives priority to the resume in the introduction where you can add a link to your site and your social media profiles. See and edit your profile on the devices you operate and how to manage who can contact you via your profile card. Consider how your card shows on other Google products.
Most of the time online along 2017 I spent in online Communities, namely Google-owned official support in English language Google plus Help ( 1.4mln users) and content-oriented Google plus Collections ( 69k users). What is being discussed on smaller and larger forums on the web and in media is already a practice in daily interaction on those two Communities: best answers to users on security and privacy issues, change of posting behaviour in view of unwanted content policy, neutral conversations on topic, best practices in content creation, inspirational and collaborative projects.
Report Remove Block
The war with spam is continuous and for that Google plus has released series of updates to empower user’s control on comments under own posts by the feature: report, remove, block.
Ask To Join and Hold For Review
Community management has strong new updates related to spam control in Communities. Bulk Moderation allows “Choose All” spam posts and remove them all. Together with “Ask to join” functionality and “Hold for review” for posts of limited members, Communities owners and moderators can make better use of their time in 2018 and introduce best practices, contests, polls, educational conversations and events for Community members.
Metrics are a useful new feature. Community Managers and Moderators look at numbers in support of better initiatives.
