Gmail storage
My first working week is always dedicated to achieving and zero email. Starting 2022, I was surprised to discover that my email is already in the zero email mode. You can benefit enormously by following my workflow and achieve zero email status with ease.
- Keep your personal and your work (school) account separate
- Use integrated Gmail
- Digitize projects and team (group) collaboration with Google Workspace. Choose the relevant edition or ask me about the differences.
Photos Storage
My photos storage was the biggest data consumer on my personal Google Account when I started the archiving on 5th January 2022. I had 75% of the storage used in photos – 25 000 items I keep from my family travelling. How does Google Photos help with freeing up space in Photos? Here are 5 useful steps:
Work with Google Assistant. In the Google Photos app, click storage and a window will help you with clearing photos and videos that are big files. You can check the screenshots and delete what is not needed any longer. You can select from suggested blurry photos and delete them.
After this initial efficient step in freeing space in Google Photos, it will be best to download and store your valuable photos to your computer. I personally prefer a dedicated Hard drive. Here’s the result below (56 MB):
It’s worth the time spent! I can draft Reports using Google Docs, Sheets and Slides on the go even in offline mode. I’m confident that I’ll receive all the travel instructions from the flight company and have enough storage to keep the required green certificate and tests. The mobile device has a new role to be your digital pass, therefore it must be kept operational for storage in the first place.
