2017 CIGI-Ipsos Global Survey on Internet Security and Trust
Based on this survey, it becomes quite obvious transformation in our cyber-physical environment is not touching certain human reactions. Each entity stick to the trust zone of their comfort, expecting everybody and everything else to match and adjust to what’s already “preserved space” In this situation and related to the web, it’s about all entities being deluded.
My thoughts and take away: Power of individual in an expanded collaborative environment of technology innovative perspectives is unprecedented. It relates to unprecedented trust among individuals on topics. It varies with generations.
Here are the pattern from the survey:
◊ Among those who never shop online, the key reason they do not is a lack of trust.
◊ Among those worried about their privacy, the top sources of concern were cybercriminals (82%), Internet companies (74%) and governments (65%).
◊ Propensity to use online payment systems on mobile phones varies greatly by country, with most G-8 countries near the bottom of the list, and emerging economies near the top.
◊ Fifty-five percent of global respondents indicated that they prefer purchasing online goods and services made in their own country.
