Hoping to see some new, exciting, and fun things from I/O this year. Perhaps some fixes rather than more forks.
Nina Trankova says
Don McCollough considering the 101 list from 2017 i/o, new announcements are always in focus blog.google – All 101 announcements from Google I/O ‘17

I love finding out about new Google things hitting the market!
Nina Trankova says
Shad Hall I love listening to developers conference talks more than any other conferences TBO. Thank you for stopping by!
Nina Trankova says
Don McCollough “forks” you mean changes? If you refer to open code, it’s tricky for me;)
Don McCollough says
Nina Trankova I apologise. An example of the forking I’m referring to is Google makes inbox rather than adding its features to Gmail, and end up with internal products competing. Same with Allo, Duo, Messenger, and Hangouts. I understand testing things, but they really should merge projects rather than fork. This way it’s less confusing for the general user, and might mean cleaner projects in regard to overlap. Though that’s just my personal opinion, as I’d like to see a more unified portfolio from Google to compete in the marketplace.
Nina Trankova says
Don McCollough I would strongly agree with you! Thank you for explaining! G+ has been suffering from the same.
