Censored Topics
Freedom Report 2017
We might be all connected but not quite! If you study the Freedom report for 2017 released yesterday at a special live-streamed event with #Google Internet Society Freedom House criticizing authorities in Hungary, for example, is a censored topic. That doesn’t mean all other governments are happy with social media and open conversation. Maybe they were not part of the research either powers of the day find more sophisticated practices to manipulation and disinformation ( fake news etc).
I’ve been following what The Internet Society is doing throughout the year with the enormous support and participation of The Internet experts, enthusiasts and The Internet Community around the world.
The message that sums up what’s going on is governments looking for all means to solve problems within society by violating Internet freedom.
I hope more enterprises, brands, practitioners understand the continuing decline of the activity online globally, the long-term impact of the violations and make plans for their proactive online presence.
